A New Girl

Frances Ray, born March 8 at 1:08 pm.
Two winners for the contest: Sara for getting the date closest (March 7th), and Morgan for guessing a girl. We can work out the details soon for a print.
Everyone up to the last minute was convinced that it would be a boy. Even the doctor and all the nurses thought it would be a boy.
We started panicking about names. Our best idea for a boy was Rosco. In retrospect Rosco was maybe not such a great idea, So we are happy and excited to introduce Frances to the world.

Guessing Game

Tomorrow, Mar 1st, Sonya will be one week past due. I know I should have done this sooner to give everyone a chance, but I only have 3 readers of this blog anyway, so here goes:
Send me your guess as to the date, time of birth, and whether it'll be a boy or girl, and the person who is closest will win 1 free 11"x14" print. Your choice if you want, or mine if you are open. You can post in the comments or send me an email.

Ephemera

Postcard Luck

Some postcards are too good to give up. Yesterday i drove to richmond and stopped in to Chop Suey Books, bought "Our Band Could Be Your Life" and then saw an article on John Whiting. He owns a paper ephemera booth in Hanover Antique Village near Mechanicsville. I found a lot of good finds.

Shooting Slump

I finally feel like I'm making a move to get out of my shooting slump. I've got film, I'm surrounded by kids every day, there's nice light in the art building. So I'm starting to finally shoot once again, and will ask questions later. "Eighty percent of success is showing up" -Woody Allen. I add "with a camera".

Cats! (again)

I know, I know- I don't post often, and when I do it's about cats. I should retitle this blog and look for advertisers. I can't help it...life out here in the country is slow, and our cats are a good portion of our entertainment. We've been letting Slim and JP out for "supervised" walks, which quickly turn into chases out into the huge field behind our house.

Bill and Kay's new cat Leon, who must have some street cat in him judging by his skills with a piece of string.
