An Aerial History
Pecorino, pears, and wine in the theater department backstage. May Day, 2008
Backyard BBQ at the Antlers Hotel.
Radishes at Nick and Sara's.
Sweet potatoes, rice, and sauteed vegetables for lunch at home. May 27th.
Sonya cooked crepes, chilled cucumber soup, and asparagus for dinner in June.
Picnic at the Denver Botanic Gardens with Ginger and Sara.
Jeff Lush and Christie's wedding cake.
Late morning coffee and scrabble
Sonya's scavenger hunt led me to the Cafe, where I was presented with a cappuccino, sour cream coffee cake, and a book on Lee Miller, along with a Matryoshka containing the next clue.
A pupusa is a thick, hand-made corn tortilla that is stuffed with one or more of the following: cheese (queso) (usually a soft Salvadoran cheese called Quesillo), fried pork rind (chicharrĂ³n), squash, refried beans. An El Salvadoran treat, we got these at a Boulder restaurant on Broadway named appropriately "Pupusa".
A picnic in the shadow of Austin's new downtown lofts. Apricots, cheese, thai basil, beer, wine and bread. Too little time back in Austin, one of the best picnicking towns ever. Drinking in public is almost mandatory with the heat, and the Whole Foods has everything you need.
Austin dinner of crepes and beer, with tomatoes and cheese.
Hamilton Pool, TX
anti-pasti at Vespaio, Austin TX. Green Beans (Haricots verts), beets, and fingerling potatoes
Back in Fort Collins, a picnic at the train depot. Sonya prepared Soba noodles, Mandoo dumplings, and edamame. There was also a soft pecorino cheese from Pienza as an appetizer. We had Japanese beer for a drink, until the security guard came to shoo us away.
